Le LHeC est un projet de collisionneur electron-ions au CERN.
Il constituerait le microscope à plus haute résolution jamais réalisé et permettrait d'étudier les interactions électro-faible (EW) et fortes (QCD) avec une très grande précision, d'étudier la production du boson BEH ainsi que de nouveaux phénomènes comme les états de la matière à très haute densité (staturation de la densité de gluons,..).
Le "Conceptual Design Report" a été publié en Juillet 2012
