I am a researcher in experimental physics at IIHE and a professor teaching at the ULB. I am curious about fundamental physics: where do the highest energetic particles that exist come from? which objects can accelerate them and can we use the neutrinos to find them? is dark matter really a WIMP?
I have joined the Pierre Auger collaboration in 2004. I had and have lots of fun with the energy spectrum, AugerPrime upgrade, mass composition, PLD software, asados, antennas, Guapa Guerrera...
Since 2017 I have joined the IceCube collaboration. My main interest is on the IceTop measurements and on the multimessenager studies. (and of course to go to the South pole)
I have switched to direct dark matter searches for a short period (2016-2017). Background measurements and work in a tunnel with liquid Xenon is interesting.
In 2008-2009 I learned the difference between measurements with 20% uncertainty and 2%. NA61/SHINE provides beautifull coverage in the forward direction.
